Touted as their “first” adventure bike, the 2021 Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 was first announced in 2018. Now, the specifications have finally been revealed. This
The Adventure Bike
Features
A Revolution Max 1250 engine powers both models. This is a liquid-cooled V-Twin capable of outputting 150 horse-power and 94 ft.-lbs of torque. To minimize the bike’s weight, the engine is integrated centrally into the chassis and the drivetrain is chain driven. Therefore, the front frame, mid-frame, and tail section all bolt directly to the powertrain. In addition to weight reduction, this also increases the stiffness of the bike
Harley-Davidson and Brembo have joined forces for the design of the braking system. Incorporating a radial monoblock four-piston calliper increases stiffness whilst reducing weight. Both the front and rear suspension is adjustable for pre-load and compression/rebound dampening. Harley’s “Adaptive Ride Height Control” accommodates the bikes longer travel suspension. The onboard system senses when the bike is braking to a stop and smoothly reduces the height by 1-2 inches.
The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 features a 6.8″ TFT touchscreen non-reflective display. While in motion, the touchscreen controls are disabled. However, the hand controls remain functional.
